Rice Oligodextrins are used for many of the same applications as maltodextrins, including viscosity and body modification of liquid systems, flavor carriers, hypoallergenic products, oral dehydration and sports beverages or carbohydrate loading products, control of osmolality, and as a bulking agent.
CNP's oligodextrins contain about 3% protein, so they are not called maltodextrin, although they do have similar D.E. and functionality. By regulation, "maltodextrin" cannot contain more than 0.5% protein.
